Alaskan Gotthardt Bulls

 American Bulldogs (AB) live 8 to 16 years.

         I quote :

"The American Bulldog's character is alert & inquisitive, bold & fearless without being hostile or overly agressive."

 AB's have short hair - easy maintenance. We use a Rubber Mitt Brush about once every 2 weeks. Bathing is only 'When Needed'- I find it's efficient to wipe them down with a wash cloth and mild soapy water :)

AB's are a Working Breed and require some exercise. We try to walk our dogs but we look forward to getting a tread mill for daily use.

There are five choices when picking an American Bulldog. The most common is the Hybrid - which I believe this is where our dogs fall. Hybrids are a combo of Scott & Johnson AB's. I am researching this area to better my understanding before I try to sum it up here!

Please consider Obedience classes at a young age. It's VERY important to socialize your puppies with other animals (especially smaller ones) while they're young. If you wait until they are older, the trainers charge you additional fees.

AB's need you to give them love and attention (as any dog does) They live for your admiration.  Please make sure you're buying this breed of dog as a family member not a pet or trophy.
